I am number four, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa (Malay), World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles & Sucker Punch

Below are some of the movies that I’ve watched in the cinema since Feb till last weekend. I only have the chance to go to the cinema once a week and sometime I don’t have much choice to choose from the movie listing. Not all the movies listed below are good and this is based on personal review. Choice is always in your hand and your hand will rock the world....

I Am Number Four: A movie about infant aliens who hide on earth from an invading species... each of the infant aliens has given a guardian and they will develop superhuman powers as they grew up. Each of them is assigned with a number and these last children of Lorien can only be killed in the sequence of their numbers. Alex Pettyfer (the actor – number four) moves to Ohio and falls in love with the girl named Sarah and encounters unexpected life changing events. Now he has something to stand up and fight for.... -Entertaining, visually fun film-

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa: First full action movie by our local – KRU. Packed with mythical characters that uses CGI tells a story about a warrior and sea captain named Merong Mahawangsa. The movie hailed as the most expensive Malaysian-made movie which is rather impressive movie, although the movie appears quite dark in terms of lighting but it is definitely something we should be proud of as Malaysian. Watch to see how far we’ve come -Improving-

World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles: Nothing much to say about this movie... is about a terrifying reality when earth is attacked by unknown forces. LA becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. 3 hours before the Air Force bombs the alien territory. -same old kind of movie which make people headache-

Sucker Punch: Tells the story of Baby Doll, who is locked away by her abusive stepfather and end up in a mental institution where she starts to imagine an alternate reality. She has to undergo a lobotomy in five days time and in order not to undergo the lobotomy she needs to steal five objects so she can escape. To cope with the situation, she enters into the hyper real world of her imagination and joined by her friends who are inmates from the institution. Lessons learned and in short, this highly stylised movie suits those who are already obsessed with Snyder’s other works... For me 300 are so far the best from Snyder, this is just no-brainer movie that pretends to be intellectual. -I got sucked and punched-
